The First Official day of Autumn is just 4 days away, and I have hardly written a thing this summer! Shame upon me….
Yet, in a way it is a good thing! We have been very busy doing many things! To quote ol’ Ernest Hemingway, “In order to write about life first you must live it.”
This summer we have: gone camping, went to Wannee Festival, DelFest, I vendored FloydFest, Jon attended Camp Barefoot, we went to the Virginia Gold Cup, we got Popcorn dog, Jon got a new job with a offshore drilling company, I have been doing orders off the Grateful Stills etsy account…..
…..We have traveled home to Virginia, we have had visitors, we have taken many long walks with the dogs in the parks, we have seen some great music, we have gone to cook outs with friends, we have antiqued in Virginia & South Carolina, we have experimented with crafts & cooking, tying to buy a home…..
We have stayed busy!
And here is it, closing in on the end of September. Already! I just can’t believe how quickly time has pasted from April onward. Being so busy makes the time pass quickly; coincidentally, you feel like you have missed out on things. It’s funny how the brain tricks you like that.
This summer has seen a great deal of rain in Charleston. More than usual. There haven’t been as many days on the beach as last year, not as many walks in the park or visits to the farmer’s market. Yet, our plants have taken off and produced a great deal better than last year. We have enjoyed time with friends and watching Popcorn grow.
Growing quickly is little Popcorn, who is as wild and crazy as he is sweet and snuggly. An Angel and a Demon, with nothing in between. He is still only 5 months old – Learning each day, and I estimate he will be a grand hound by the time his first birthday comes around!
Here is an image of 3 photos of Popcorn’s growth over 3 months, as displayed
while he and I sleepily snuggle.
Look at that Growing Pooch! Apparently, he prefers snuggling on my right side!
There has been a great deal to be grateful for, a lot to appreciate, and a lot of blessings overall. Sometimes when time goes by so fast, you can forget about appreciating the people and things that happened around you. must remember not to do such a thing. Living in the moment is wonderful – but hanging on to those memories and appreciating them is just as important.
Our Next adventure…… Buying a home. STAY TUNED!
